Our client is looking for a subsurface Technologist for the team in Surrey
The role of the Subsurface Technologist is to provide technical support to the large team of subsurface professionals, with responsibilities including data management, data loading, mapping, IT and software management, IT troubleshooting and general office support.

Roles and Responsibilities
General subsurface support:
Support large integrated technical department comprising of geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, petroleum engineers, production technologists and well engineersDevelop and establish systems and processes within the department for technical data managementData loading – loading of all types of subsurface digital data into software such as Petrel, Kingdom suite, petrophysical applications, Eclipse, OFM, MBAL, GAP, PipeSim, Compass etcData manipulation – assist G&G and engineering colleagues in preparing data for analysis or import into software packagesPreparation of 2D maps in Petrel or ArcGISAssist in preparation of technical reports, presentations and documentsTechnical Data Management:
Organisation and management of department databasesManagement of data transfer (internal and external)Preparation of data packages for external digitising and analysis with associate organisations and service providers.Liaison across company branches globally regarding data transferDevelop data management best-practices and share with subsurface teams across other IES organisations globallyIT Management:
Manage interface between IES Technical Centre and ITManage departmental hardware and software requirements and organise implementation in conjunction with IT;Manage subsurface software procurement and licensingTechnical Skills and Competencies (Essential)
Sufficient post graduate experience in a subsurface technologist-style role in an Operator or Service company in RussiaSufficient experience of Russian data systemsBackground as a Geologist or Reservoir EngineerHigh level of competence in written and spoken English and RussianHigh level of numerical competencyStrong demonstrable capability in general Windows-based and MS Office tools, particularly ExcelProven track record of data manipulation and processingProven track record of data loading/export into a variety of subsurface software packagesProven track record of loading/export SEG-Y seismic dataAptitude, willingness and ability to learn and manipulate new softwareProactive problem solverAbility to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environmentHighly Advantageous:
Significant experience in a subsurface technologist-style role in an Operator or Service companyOil company experience, particularly in an Operating environmentExperience of basic data analysis and interpretationExperience of loading data into Petrel, Kingdom Suite, RMS, Eclipse, OFM, IP, Techlog, Logic, CompassExperience of data manipulation and output from production databasesAdvanced Excel skillsExperience of 2D mapping using Petrel and ArcGISPlease register and apply online for this role or for more information email
