Country Director - Russia Federation Moscow

Fixed-term, maternity cover (Oct 2011 - Sept 2012) Salary: US$50,800 - $63,500 net per annum (net = take home pay. Oxfam will pay any tax and social security liabilities of the postholder in addition to the net salary) + benefits.

At Oxfam we’ve been working successfully in Russia for many years. Today, we are playing an important role with our partners in helping to reduce urban poverty. But that’s not all, Russia’s importance on the world stage means we are shaping our advocacy agenda and campaigning both locally and internationally, with a coalition of other Russian organisations, for an end to poverty worldwide.

In order to deliver this pivotal programme we are seeking to appoint a Country Director who is creative, has an aptitude for external networking, a depth of development experience and preferably a good understanding of Russia. They need a proven ability to build effective partnerships, able to achieve leverage for change, raise funds from traditional and non-traditional donors and interact with people at all levels from presidents to farmers;

Domestically the programme is currently focused on climate change adaptation and rural livelihoods, social enterprise and access to basic services. Internationally it is focused on Russia’s role in the G8/G20, as an emergent donor and on climate change.

The post-holder will be based in our Moscow office and will have responsibility for managing a team of ten people and a budget of approximately one million pounds.
