Microsoft Enterprise Services is seeking a solution architect to join the Center of Excellence for Dynamics (CoE-D) team. In conjunction with MBS Dynamics the Microsoft Enterprise Services organization recently launched the Center of Excellence for Dynamics with the following Mission: Strengthen capabilities to win and deliver successful Microsoft Dynamics engagements to accelerate adoption and productive use in the Enterprise.

The Center of Excellence for Dynamics provides delivery support in the form of architectural assistance or project management for the top critical business solution implementations based on Dynamics AX in the enterprise. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual who possesses an ERP solution background or strong project and business solutions experience. The role requires both broad and deep industry knowledge and the ability to architect solutions by mapping common customer business problems to reusable end-to-end business application solutions. The solution architect will engage in senior level business decision maker discussions related to agility, business value, and business processes. This position will be a key enabler and will oversee delivery of the largest, most complex, and most strategic projects for enterprise customers. He or she has a passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.

The ERP Solution Architect applies advanced analysis skills and experience in principals of business process design to define appropriate customer solutions. He or she must have current and deep experience with implementation of large ERP products, such as Microsoft’s Dynamics AX and/or competitive ERP solutions such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards or BAAN. Understanding competitive solutions enables this position to properly assess feasibility of migrating customer solutions from, and/or integrating with existing customer systems. Advanced domain knowledge in one or more vertical industry is also an asset.

The Dynamics Solution Architect helps identify, pursue and close strategic business development opportunities while continually driving existing projects. A key goal is to improve the readiness of partners and Microsoft teams mapping industry specific requirements to the functions of the new Dynamics AX 2012 platform. He or she identify solution gaps and develop solution options such as the inclusion of components from Independent Software Vendors (ISV) or customer-specific customizations. The challenge is to: a) establish an overview of the requirements defined by the customer including definition of business, technical, and architectural requirements b) recognize any inconsistencies, assumptions, and critical elements, c) design the end-to-end functional architecture and solution design, d) document, propose and discuss the architecture and solution options, recommendations and implications, and e) facilitate and accelerate the decision process considering the customers’ business strategy, drivers and requirements, pain points & challenges knowing the relevant industry trends.

A Dynamics AX Architect routinely acts as subject matter expert, assisting customers, partners and Microsoft teams in the most critical and difficult implementations. Solution Architects are able to deliver effective strategic presentations to audiences of all sizes and possess excellent communication skills. The Solution Architect must have proven experience in projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes multi-phase/multi-dimensional/multi-resource projects with high customer satisfaction or references. This role offers individuals who are resourceful, confident under pressure, and have demonstrated skills in both crisis management and expectation management, to step up to the next level as an international visible Microsoft Consulting expert.

The successful candidate has a degree in Accounting/Business/MIS or equivalent work experience. Higher relevant education preferred. Position requires at least 5-10 years relevant working experience including expertise in enterprise architecture as well as business solutions deployment.

Qualifications include expertise in several of the following ERP domains: Business Intelligence, Financials, Distribution, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Project Accounting, HR/Payroll, Enterprise Application Integration, and Enterprise Application Architecture.

To live close to a major city/airport is an advantage because frequent travel (up to 70%) is an integral part of this job, as well as high levels of recognition and visibility.
