Description

The Legal Manager's primary responsibility is to protect the legal interests of the Company and its personnel by handling all legal matters arising in Russia and CIS, under the supervision of the Managing Counsel for EEMEA and in conjunction with other divisional counsel (MMD, MRL, MVD, IP, etc.) and external local counsel, as well as relevant headquarters and subsidiary staff and functional groups.

In particular, the Legal Manager is responsible for monitoring activities which require legal input and ensuring that the appropriate advice is given either by the Legal team or by our external legal resources.

The Legal Manager will ensure the company complies with all legislative requirements including anti-corruption/anti-bribery (including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), fair competition and antitrust legislations, local regulatory requirements, labor issues, privacy, etc as well as local business standards and industry regulations. As part of risk management, the Legal Manager will support the Compliance Officer and others with routine monitoring of compliance across the Company and will actively monitor potential legal issues to mitigate any future problems.

The Legal Manager will also assess, supervise and manage external legal counsel in Russia and CIS, a appropriate and in line with the budgets provided, ensuring advice is timely, cost-effective and of consistently high quality.

Qualifications

Degree in Law discipline, aadditional degrees in science or business disciplines would be advantageous
• Admitted to practice law in Russia
• From 5 years post admission experience gained with multinational organisation and/or commercial practice experience in a top tier law firm
• In-house experience with a pharmaceutical company or US-based multinational organisation would be advantageous
• Professional or academic legal qualification or experiences in other jurisdictions would be advantageous
• Familiarity with the US FCPA and the IFPMA Code of Marketing Practices would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of, and experience in, the establishment and effective operation of legal compliance and legal risk management systems
• Fluent English(written and spoken)
• Ability to identify key issues and consistently apply a high standard of integrity, professionalism, legal knowledge and expertise and business ethics
• Ability to provide commercially focused and value-added legal advice
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills, highly developed technical and research skills
• Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and prioritise work under pressure
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
• Ability to deal with a broad range of people across all levels
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior management in the business
• Proactive and responsive
• Practical approach with a "can do" attitude
