Regular/Senior Java developer

Project Description:

One of the Top Investment Banks has a need to develop innovating margin risk platform which supports all major known and house margin calculation methodologies (VaR, SPAN, TIMS, FINRA, etc).

Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirements gathering by working closely with onshore technology team, business users, and quants.
• Design and develop service components, with responsibilities for the full development life cycle
• Deploy highly efficient caching techniques to solve problems related to passing high volumes of data between different platform components
• Actively participate in the global development process, contribute to knowledge base, suggest process improvements
• Stay abreast of the new developments in technology - tools/frameworks/approaches/etc.

Skills Required:

• Strong Java experience including Multi-Threading
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Good understanding of design patterns
• Design and development of the data persistence layers utilizing Spring and Hibernate frameworks
• Design and development of web services utilizing REST/SOAP protocols
• Database design and modeling (preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of SQL on one of the major databases (preferred)
• Strong analytical skills are required (mathematical skills are preferred)
• Soft skills include good written and verbal skills and leadership skills in driving technical excellence
