Quality Assurance Chemist
at our
Spiritwood, North Dakota

The primary responsibilities of this role are to help provide support to production and other teams with accurate and timely data for the production and release of quality malt products. Lab Chemists are responsible for the day to day activities within the lab, as well as up keep of all policies and procedures and run both chemical and physical tests, on a variety of components and reports those values collectively gathered each day. The lab is responsible for ensuring equipment is operating and maintained to a satisfactory levels, observe-follow SPC charts, communicate with production/lab manager any discrepancies that may arise in a timely manner.
Principal Accountabilities:
(50%)
Analyze control, col-lab and production malt samples. The analyses will define how that piece/shipment performs in brewing
(15%)
Maintain equipment in the lab through repair, maintenance, and replacement
(15%)
Perform miscellaneous job-related side duties as assigned (SOP review, COA generation,etc.)
(10%)
Maintain knowledge of inventory, unloading and loading procedures
(10%)
Training of new quality assurance technicians, analysts, operators and personnel from other functional areas, and expand personal knowledge of the plant and its processes.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelors degree in science field
Lab expereince gained through coursework
Microsoft office - ability to use - preferably with excel experience
Effective communication (written, verbal)
Troubleshooting experience/ Problem solving/decision making
Sense of urgency to meet deadlines
Attention to detail and follow up
Interpersonal skills
Willingness to work on team
Able to adapt to ever changing work environment
Ability to accurately perform data entry
Work flexible schedule as needed
Desired
Degree in chemistry, food science, microbiology, agronomy or biochemistry
2+ years industry experience in a Laboratory setting
