Senior Radio Network Design & Optimization Engineer

Senior radio network design and optimization engineer plans troubleshoots and optimizes LTE or UMTS/GSM radio networks applying professional HW and SW, presents the deliverables towards a customer reaching the acceptance.

Radio network planning:

• Dimensioning, nominal and detailed planning for roll-out or modernization of radio network of base stations based on site survey results, customer’s traffic profiles and network statistics (if available), incl. preparation of databuilds with radio parameters for BTS integration,schemes for connection of radio modules with antenna and feeder cables and site antenna configuration, preparation of radio network planning reports (with calculation results, coverage plots for cluster of planning, site configurations)

• Dimensioning and planning of radio controllers for network integration (in a separate role), preparation of databuilds with parameters for FBSC/RNC/mcBSC/mcRNC integration

Radio network optimization:

• Collecting and analysis of performance data and KPIs

• Network resources utilization analysis and enhancement

• Analysis of drive-test log files and preparation of drive-test reports

• Optimization of Inter-RAT and Intra-RAT layers

• Testing and introduction of new radio features

• Audit and optimization of radio parameters

• Preparation of optimization recommendations for KPI improvements

• Troubleshooting activities in case of poor performing network elements

• Support in implementation of optimization measures

• Analysis of log-files/traces probe from network elements and probes (interface protocol analysis)

• Technical guidance to customer teams

Additional Requirements:

• More than 5 years of practical experience in planning and optimization of GSM/UMTS radio networks especially based on NSN/Nokia equipment and solutions

and/or

• More than 2 years of practical experience in planning and optimization of LTE radio networks especially based on NSN/Nokia equipment and solutions

Required knowledge and skills:

• NSN/Nokia radio equipment and system

• Radio network optimization (incl. NSN/Nokia radio network parameters, features, counters and KPIs)

• Radio network planning with professional tools (e.g. Atoll )

• Radio controllers (FBSC, RNC, mcRNC and mcBSC): dimensioning and planning for network integration

• Call processing 3GPP and NSN/Nokia solution

• Interface protocol analysis

• Drive test analysis with e.g. Actix Analyzer, NEMO Analyze, TEMS Discovery

• Antenna types and feeder cable, amplifiers, repeaters

• Multi-vendor experience is an advantage.

Willingness to travel extensively (more that 50% of the time) to support projects in Russia and worldwide.
