Construction Project Engineer - Petrochem - WorleyParsons - Sugar Land, TX

Identify and track critical construction information needs Work with planning to ensure all schedules are realistic and construction driven. Once complete, work with activity planning to get a detailed execution. Development of Equipment Required on Site Dates to support the construction sequence and schedule Engage with and obtain approval and feedback from the Operations Team during offshore schedule and offshore Workpack reviews to ensure alignment. Provide the necessary Engineering, Supplier, Construction and Project schedule information to the support team for Asset services Program works so that they understand current and future work scope job priorities. Along with the WorleyParsons Procurement services group ensure that all PO material and all Construction Contractor Bulks items are available and marshalled at the support bases in readiness for construction to call up for project execution. Ensure compliance with the safety assurance plan so that work is accomplished in an environmentally sound manner using safe work practices Encourage construction and operations personnel to review design packages early in the course of projects to eliminate rework and optimize construction Anticipate and resolve problems encountered in the field to eliminate costly rework or re-testing Ensure work is performed per plans and specifications via coordination with the Quality Assurance (QA) and Functional Check-out (FCO) groups Coordinate between the construction contractor and the project lead to resolve field discrepancies in design packages and material delays Participate in a post project appraisal review and report (lesson learned) Coordinate project turnover activities with the Commissioning Engineer and QA/Quality Control and FCO Groups Issue Material Receiving Reports (MRR) in WorleyParsons SPM system. Issue Overage / Shortage / Damaged Reports (OSD) as needed. Ability to work onsite as needed in Sugarland, TX and Lake Charles, LA field location as needed by the project.

BA/BS in related field or applicable discipline preferred, or equivalent years experience. Masters degree or professional certifications preferred. Expert knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted procedures. Generally 10+ years of relevant experience.
1. Ability to read and interoperate Structural Drawings, P&ID’s, and ISO’s,
2. Ability read and understands Crane Load Charts and Lift Plan Drawings.
3. Ability to read Rigging Diagrams; know: fleet angle, endless strap, wire choker, stinger and reeving the sheaves.
4. Know what a CG is; whether on pipe, iron, valve and so on.
5. Know how to manage a coordinate system.
6. A Minimum of 7 years of Construction Greenfield and Brownfield experience: MTO’s, Material Logistics, Layouts, welds, coatings, HR’s, grating, etc.
7. Able to perform estimated take-off (Wt. of load)
8. Have some awareness of model (review share, construct-sim, or some other equivalent)
9. Familiar with and or have written Safe Workpacks . “Safe Work Packs” is a term used by WorleyParsons some companies use other terminology such as Work Plans, Construction Plans, etc.
10. Microsoft Programs and computer experienced especially MS Excel.
11. Know / be familiar with Modular Design.
12. Be familiar with Primavera; schedule work load: identify scaffolds (as needed), habitats, bull-rigging, etc.
13. API RP 2D Certified in Crane & Rigging a plus.
14. Knowledge of NCCER a plus. (National Center for Construction Education and Research)
15. Be able to produce a general work scope/procedures for the installation/removal / revision of Structural Members
16. TWIC Card is a plus.
17. Ability to work with several disciplines and use proper office etiquette.
18. Ability to sit in front of a computer for a long period of time.
19. prior petrochemical complex or resiner experience is essential.
