POSITION SUMMARY
Director of Digital Experiments leads and coordinates efforts to quantify and improve customer engagement, bookings, and revenue across Marriott digital touch points. This person is responsible for a globally-distributed team that partners with Marriott stakeholders to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to wield Conversion Rate Optimization efforts against Marriott Digital Products and international regions.
The Director of Digital Experiments also effects change at operational, tactical and strategic levels across the Marriott Digital organization; core responsibilities include:
1.
Develop and lead a team of 20+ Marriott Associates and partners to: (A) quantify and (B) optimize digital experiences across the following international, localized websites:

1. Mobile guest travel to meet goals and objectives including but not limited to channel shift, hotel room nights, hotel Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR),
customer acquisition, and engagement to maximize lifetime value of current and next generation travelers.
2 Establish subject matter expertise with regard to the historical performance of and opportunities to improve the Marriott Digital Products and international website domains and digital touch points.
3.
Outline communication strategies to align and coordinate Digital Experiments with Internet Customer Care, Information Resources (IR) operations, and field eCommerce teams in support of ongoing Experiment activities
.
4.
Coordinate web traffic and proactively address traffic allocation with Metrics & Analysis as well as Personalization and Merchandising teams
.
5.
Attract, mentor and provide direction for direct reports and research associates in Experiments’;
6.
Build and evangelize a best of breed Enterprise Experimentation program

In
collaboration with Product Line Leadership, define the Digital Experiment
strategy for emerging (e.g. mobile, tablet, lobby board, in-room media, etc.)
digital touch points and international regions including, but not limited to
Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa, and develop appropriate staffing plan.
Develop
processes and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to maximize Experiment efficiency
of execution
Establish
Digital Experiment mediums to activate transparency and distributed authorship of
Experiment findings, secondary research and program information
Partner
with the Senior Director of Digital Research to fundraise and manage $2.3MM+
Digital Research budget
Align
Digital Experiments team with critical eCommerce/Digital leadership initiatives
Lead prioritization discussions and review(s) to ensure the right
Experiments in the right place are delivered
CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE
DESIRED
S
uccessful candidates possess diverse knowledge and
skillset with an advanced understanding of Analytics and Experiment tactics;
ideally experienced in multiple areas: experience design, direct marketing, web
development, market research, web analytics, data science, statistics, and/or
behavioral economics/psychology
Eight or more years of hands-on experimentation
experience, four years of leading experiment teams.
Experience with the Adobe
Online Marketing Suite (SiteCatalyst and Discover a plus)
or
other enterprise analytics
Hands-on experience using Adobe Target or other enterprise
experimentation platforms (e.g. Monetate, SiteSpect, Optimizely, Google
Analytics, etc.)
Experienced in developing or managing online user
experiences
Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint power user (or
equivalent)
Project management experience with a keen attention
to details and schedules
Proficient in data structures, data warehousing and
decision support systems
Basic understanding of front-end development
technologies (CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc.)
Hi EQ and senior-level presence in order to inspire
trust and confidence in direct reports and stakeholders.
Strong
relationship management and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
Excellent listening skills
Strong analytical, quantitative,
and problem-solving skills
Excellent

Proven track record in leading
cross-discipline and cross-organizational teams
A
dvanced
understanding in one or more areas: digital design, front-end development, data
analytics/science or behavioral economics/psychology
Eight
or more years of relevant work experience with increasing responsibility and
complexity
Significant
experience working in a matrix or shared-services environment
Certification/advanced knowledge with Adobe Target:
Test&Target, Recommendations and Search & Promote
Experience implementing experimentation strategies across multiple
platforms (e.g. web, mobile, email).
Experience
building experiments without an experimentation platform or building an
experimentation platform
Experience working
with relational databases (SQL Server, DB2) and/or BI tools such as SAS, SPSS
or Cognos. Tableau is a plus.
Experience with adaptive/responsive
design
Examples
of relevant work experience would be in the areas of web evelopment or market
research
Education
Bachelor’s degree required;
Graduate degree, e.g., MBA or
related degree preferred
